This is the place to discuss ideas for communicating and marketing the Streamr project, goal, and technology, and share insights into what is happening in broader dialogs on data and decentralised technology.
Hey all -
my thoughts initially are on Unique Selling points within the Brand & positioning.

for the record I’m still a big fan of Carl’s quote ...
” If you build something that’s evidently brilliant, the alternative suddenly looks obsolete.”
It would be good to hear if anyone has any suggestions for # they see are gaining popularity?
#OwnYourData has appeared in relation to the Great Hack documentary and we have used #dataprivacy and #realtimedata in the past. Other suggestions are welcome.
Good to see this thread. In the middle of a few things now, but will come back later today to contribute.
Streamr is about the user being in control of his/her data and not giving it away for free. One catchy and provocative tagline might be: "Tired of being a data slave?"
I need to think more about this b/c nothing is coming to me at the moment.
smo_key "data slave" is perhaps a bit to much but you are right in the sense that some harsher words would work to wake people up.
clearly I need a few days 😁
PocketChange #DataUnion is a good one too i believe.
More generally, I am currently auditing our social channels and considering how best to use them to attract users and grow our reach. If you have any feedback or suggestions on this (things we're doing well, things not so well, what else we could do or others are doing well that we could emulate) please share.
Tom, this is a good idea. When I think of specifics, I'll be sure to note them. I've read that Chainlink does a very good job of promoting itself. I don't know anything about that community or what the team does, so I can't speak to the accuracy of that statement. But if anyone else knows...
smo_key I think it is not a bad idea to see how indeed other successful projects take care of their marketing and communication. We have 3 things which are important and those are the Streamr Marketplace, Community Products and the Streamr Network. Once everybody can start using these (or be part of), we need to show that these work together and are not separate services. We need to communicate that this is strong and important for the future web3 apps/services. Especially the speed - scaling - of the network needs to be communicated well.
Remy Those are important for sure. And yes, should show they work together and that'll be nice when they're all ready to go. It'd be nice to keep building up the community so that when they are ready, there will be lots of people who will try out those products and even help promote them. I think we can all do something, in our own way, to be Streamr "evangelists" to help this ecosystem as much as we can. I think Streamr can bring a lot of value to the world given that real-time data can be valuable for so many things.
Also i'm not sure about this, but it is probably good if we are going to have a dynamic list / page on the new website that shows all community products. Although this will probably be very visible on the updated Marketplace too
